    Humid hide question.
Do you need to mist the tank daily if you provide a humid hide within the tank?

Also is humidity only relavent during shed time?

    Does low humidity cause RI?

    Thank you. =]

You should maintain the tank humidity at least 40% to keep your snake healthy. Humidhides are a good tool to help during shed but can also cause issues (scale rot) if your snake spends too much time in it.

Humidity is relevant all the time but is far more important during shed.

    Re: Humid hide question.
Humidity should be between 40-60 on a regular basis. Bumped to 70 during shed. So yes, there needs to be humidity at all times. I would not do a humid hide, except when they are in shed.

But what purpose does the humidity serve for the snake? I understand for shed but other than shed I dont get it.

Too low humidity can cause bad sheds as well as Ris. Too high stagnant humidity can cause Ris as well so it's a bit of a balancing act. Also low humidity can cause dehydration leading to a few other problems.
