Pregnant female shed, we didnt know she was pregnant.
OK we went to a reptile show and my oldest daughter found an adult female she fell in love with for $40 and begged for and played the whole but mom thing. Well I gave in cause the guy said she wouldn't breed but she was really sweet. We held her and she is a sweet heart and lazy as can be. A couple of days after we got home I took a real good look and OMG she has gotten really big and lumpy so we weighted her, well 8 days later we weighted her again and she gained 130g and she hasn't eat. I looked at my husband cause she is gravid big time she just shed last night and her tail looks like all the fat has been sucked out of it but she looks like she has about 4 rats in her, she is up to 2225g now. I have no idea what she was paired with but I hope she is OK with laying. I am going to end up being really lucky or really upset. Keep your finger crossed please.

Just be sure you're prepared for eggs! I don't think you could possibly be disappointed in a situation like this, good luck :aww:

Yeah, did he say why she wouldn't breed? Maybe he was trying to breed her, and gave up...just a wee bit too soon. lol

Oh I got everything set up dates marked on calander and alarms set on my phone. I just am afraid of hundreds of things that could go wrong. I have another female that we are trying to breed but I have been expecting it from her this is a surprise. I am excited an a little scared all at the same time.

He just said he couldn't get her to breed but he had a bunch of reptiles. I am wondering if he just didn't see her breed or he traded for her. We just got her for a pet I looked her over and she looked healthy a little fat :D but healthy.

I'm sure it's really scary, I'm going to be pacing once I start breeding! My fingers are crossed for you that you have a nice, big, healthy clutch from this girl :D

With her weight, she should be just fine. My recommendation: Don't fuss over her. If I forget to peek at a gravid female one day, the next day is when I'll find a clutch. If there's a storm, they love to lay eggs when it's rained, too. Keep the basking spot temperature no higher than 90, because they will usually lay their eggs right on the heat.

Itll be interesting to see what she lays. If she pops out all normals ask the breeder what she was paired with bc the could be all hets for something!
