    Stuck in feeding mode?
I'm fairly new to ball pythons, and I'm running into an interesting situation. I feed f/t and in their enclosures. I use newspaper in the enclosures. After he makes his "kill" there is usually some "rat juice" on the newspaper. Because of this, with the scent, he ends up being "stuck" in feeding mode. He will track any movement and rush after it. So far, I've been able to lure him to the other end of the cage after a couple of days, and change the newspaper on the kill end. After that, he gets out of his feed mode and starts to calm down.

Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid this situation in the future? I don't want to continue to stress him out by tricking him to the other end.

    Thanks.

Maybe he's not full, have you tried feeding him another?

Are you sure you are feeding him enough, and he isn't actually still hungry?

There isn't much you can do to control their behavior except provide them with proper temperatures/humidity/hides/food

A full BP will usually head sraight to the nearest warm hide to digest. I think your guy may need the next size larger prey item.

I second all the posts above about prey size. BPs aren't like electronics that get "stuck" in a setting (take, for example, when my stupid remote decides the only button it wants to work is a "3").

Haha yea, after my boy eats, when he is full he runs straight to his warm hide and I wont see him for another 2 days.
