    Back heat rack heating question
I have a new back heat rack.
I'm getting perfect hot side temps of 88-90. However, my cool side temps started out as 80 and keeps increasing. It's currently 84.
How can I regulate this back to more ideal temps?

I'm using a ranco thermostat on 11'' flexwatt. (Planning to upgrade to a herpstat soon)
The thermostat probe is on the middle shelf between the tub and the flexwatt.

    I've been thinking...
Does this mean that my ambient temp is too warm? It's about 70-75 in my room...

Lowering the ambiant temperatures is the only thing that you can do. This is one of the reasons why I prefer belly heat racks, back heat are harder to regulate.

Do you have ventilation holes in the tubs? If not, put some in. If you do, you might need a few more. Ventilation helps with a temperature gradient.

Your temps are fine. I wouldnt worry about it. Thete is no exact correct temp for ball pythons. Theres a window. As long as you are within your window your fine. My temps in my snake rooms are 84 to 86 degrees. It may drop a little at night. My racks all stay hovering around 89. Same way for years. No problems.

My rack can do both belly and back heat. I just choose to try out back heat for the first time because it deals with less wires.
The rack my snakes are currently in is belly heat and I have no problems with the temp.

I have vent holes in my tubs. But I can't puncture more without sacrificing the humidity.

Thanks Snake Lab. I'll probably leave it then if it doesn't continue to get hotter.
