    How do you "name" your hatchlings?
    I've seen websites, or fauna, where someone is selling 3 of the same morphs, and they have each snake labeled. Like, one is TSF1-11, another is TSF2-11 and another is TSM1-11. How do they ( or you ) come up with these "names" to identify each hatchling?

    God I really hope this makes sense to someone........I know it does in my head! Lmao

    I'm not sure about the TS part, I'm assuming that has something to do with the particular morph that the hatchling is, but the F or M is for male or female, and the first number is just a number for numbering them like female 1, female 2, then the numbers after the dash are for the year they were born. Hope this helps a little. :D

    Yea those three I mentioned I made up myself. That does help me, though. Thank you!

    I name them things like "AriXChanticoLessMale245"

    So, the sire, the dam, the morph, and the gender, and a unique number.

    I try to go really simple to avoid confusion.
    Morph.Gender.Number
    ex:
    Alb.F.001 = Albino Female 001
    BlkPas.M.024 = Black Pastel Male 024
    PasLes.F.123 = Pastel Lesser Female 123

    Although recently I've been debating whether or not I should include hatch year in there somewhere...

    I label them: clutch#-year-male/female#-morph abbreviated. Example - C2-11-F3-PSTL (Clutch 2 - 2011 - Female #3 - Pastel).

    I also usually name them. One year a clutch was named after Family Guy characters. Helps me keep track of them in my head better.

    I do year-Clutch or breeder-sex and number-what it is
    IE 09BRDM1HAlbino or 12C1F3Mojave
    EDIT
    If I dont know what year it was hatched I label the year with a U

    This one makes the most sense to me personally. To add the year you could just add it onto the end of it with another period or hyphen. Like:
    Alb.F.001.11 or Alb.F.001-11
    I'll probably use something like this when i hopefully start breeding next year :)

    My lables are pretty easy to understand. Here is a ID# for one of my snakes.

    BP_2011_S_F_01 - That simply means a Ball Python, hatched in 2011, morph is Spider, its a female and 01 just means if I were to have more than one 2011 spider in my collection, the ID#s would go up. BP_2011_S_F_02, BP_2011_S_F_03 and so on.

    This is how I do my system.

    YearGender-Morph-Number

    So my first female pastel was a 2010. Her ID is:

    10F-PAST-01

    My second female pastel I got in 2010 but she is an 08. Her ID is:

    08F-PAST-02

    I hatched out 3 Butter Spider females last season, their ID's are:

    11F-BTRSP-01
    11F-BTRSP-02
    11F-BTRSP-03

    All the other information are on their feeding cards. This system works very well for me. :)
