    to many hides
i have my baby bp in his new 36x18x12 boamaster cage and figured since hes so small and the cage is pretty mbig for him i would just add more hides so i have 4 regular hides throughout the cage 2 on hot side 2 on cold and a moist hide in the middle...is it to many or does it not matter

also this is a bit off topic but i can tape my flexwatt to cage with foil tape right?

You can't have too many hides

And yes, you can tape the flexwatt to the PVC with aluminum tape.

A lot of people are going to tell you that cage is way to big for a baby. My personal opinion is for some snakes, yes it is, but others may do ok. I don't think you have too many hides, but to me, the bigger problem is the snake feeling secure while traveling between them. Add some plant cover, maybe some driftwood so he feels more secure when he has to leave a hide or he might not and not thermo regulate properly.

I'm sure he'll be very appreciative of the excess.

Good luck finding which one he's in when you open the cage though! :D

I put newly purchased babies right into 30 qt Iris tubs and just use a bunch of hides to fill up the space. Haven't had any problems so far...*knocking on wood*

If I'm not mistaken aluminum tape is actually recommend for securing flex watt to the outside of a PVC cage.

it is, it's not like the PVC is ever going to conduct electricity or anything like that (Animal Plastics ships out their cages that have flexwatt with strips of Aluminum tape to secure the flexwatt with

Back when I used to use RBI cages (similar to the current AP models), Rich used to send along an instruction sheet that said to use aluminum tape.
