Dumbest Shipping I've Yet To Encounter
So, on Monday on last week (2/20) I ordered another Hydrofarm Tstat from Amazon. I did the free ground shipping like I always do. Well, it sat there for 5 days before actually being shipped! And then on this Monday (2/27) the web site says it's delivered at 245pm. But my wife was home and no one came. So I gonna call yesterday to find out what was going on but before I could it got delivered yesterday morning.

How messed up is that?! At least I got what I ordered.

I've always found Amazon to be a little wonky on their shipping. But then again, back when I was deploying to strange countries for a living, Amazon was one of the first companies who would ship to an APO AE address....been fairly loyal to them ever since.

An APO AE or an APO AP address indicates a military member is overseas or in a deployed location. Right after 9/11 a lot of companies refused to ship to overseas troops because it took them an extra 5 minutes to fill out a few customs forms. Amazon was one of the first I became aware of that would ship to us over there. Since then, most companies have jumped on the band wagon, but not until they lost quite a bit of business.

Back in 2002 I got in to a heated, screaming email battle with a company that produced tactical gear (yeah, a company you've heard of), but would not ship it to an APO AE address...I never figured out how the hell that made any sense at all....needless to say, I never used any of that companies gear again.

I order from Amazon on almost a daily basis. Atleast weekly. I've never had a shipping problem, but I also only use Prime when available. Never had an issue with it, but everything that doesn't qualify for Prime seems to be shipped from a different company and doesn't come packaged with Amazon printing on it. Hopefully this will be the only bad experience with Amazon for you.

I've used Amazon for years and this is the first ever issue. So it won't dissuade me from using them.

True, not everything you order from Amazon actually COMES from Amazon, so that's something to keep in mind as well.
