Weird eating habits, what to do?
My bp is around 4 months old. She has been eating 1 f/t small adult mouse per week but last week she refused to eat then today she gulped down 2 mice and continued to act hungry. I figure it's time to give her larger food but following the general guide of 1 1/2 times the largest part of her body it seems like larger is going to be too big. I could really use some advice.

Do you have a scale? I feed my BP's rodents that weigh 15% of the snakes body weight

so a 100 gram BP gets 15 grams of rodent. It really takes the guess work out of the equation

No I don't have one yet. I just looked at her cruizing around her cage and she looks pretty fat at the moment so now I'm really confused. lol

Once again that's what a scale is so important, it lets you know what to do and not just have to guess lol

I kinda compare their eating to ours....seems to me like feeding twice the amount of a normal meal is kinda like a Thanksgiving day feast to us and doesnt do a whole lot of good besides make a larger than average poop! :)
If you are unsure if she is getting enough nutrients, switch to the exact same size rat. On the good for you scale a rat is the second best meat on earth!! (the first one they wont eat..LOL) And you could feed every 4-5 days instead of 7 days....
    Again just my two sense....

Okay, so where can I get a scale? They don't have them at Petsmart or Petco which are the closest pet stores to me. The closest reptile store doesn't have them either. As for the rat idea. I would love to feed her rats but when I first got her I tried hoppers, and rat pups with no success. The only thing she would eat is mice so that's what I've been feeding her, however, I'm willing to try again so what suggestions do you guys have if she wont eat them?

Okay I bought a scale tonight at Walmart. I have to work soon so I'll weight her tomorrow then start weighing her food too. By the way what is a healthy weight for a bp that is 4 months old and around 18" long? She looks nice and healthy but I still want to know.
