    feeding question
So...I fed my baby ball python for the first time last week (she took it with barely any hesitation! :D ) and she took a pass at my fiance's finger while we were trying to put the tank back in order afterwards (had to lift her hiding rock so she could see the prey item). Is it ok if I feed her 2 mice on her next feeding this weekend or should I stick with one and leave it at that? I will need to thaw out 2 mice for her next feeding if it's ok to give her 2.

    Thanks in advance

do you have a scale that you can weigh your BP and mice with? you should feed your snake a rodent (or multiple rodents that together) weigh 15% of your snakes body weight

so a 100 gram BP should eat a 15 gram rodent

Unfortunately i do not have a scale yet :( It's on my list of things to buy next.
is there a way to tell without using a scale?

you can feed your snake a rodent that is approximately the same diameter as the widest point of your snake. if the rodent is a good bit smaller than the widest point on your snake feed 2

by the way this is the scale I use it cost $15 at a grocery store:

I will definitely get one of those when I get paid.

I'll keep feeding her just 1 for now and keep my hands (and my fiance's hands) out of the tank until she goes back into hiding.

    Thanks for all the feedback

Until you can afford to get a scale it's better to underfeed her than to give her something too large and risk a regurge.
