    feeding more?
Hey everyone. I have been feeding my little guy hoppers since I got him. Lately he has been crusing more and after feeding him he poke his head out and wandered around making me think maybe he wants more food. I do need to go buy a scale but I was wondering should I offer him another hopper, something smaller or wait until his next feeding day and offer him something larger?

Also for the first time I noticed him stick his head under water. I checked for mites and found nothing and his cool side is 82, warm side is 86 and basking is 92 right now. Is this normal? He does not appear to be starting to shed and just completed a shed last week!

about how big is he? a scale and the 15% rule is the best way to go but until you have one you can feed him a rodent that is about as big around as the widest part of the snake. If hoppers are too small, rat pups or adult mice are the next step I usually take.

Sometimes my balls stick there whole head under to drink. You can try switching over to rat pups if you think he needs bigger meals.

He is about an inch, maybe an inch and a half across as his widest point and I would guess about 20 inches long now. Do I feed him the rat pup today (I fed the hopper this morning and he took it quickly) or wait until his next feeding day
