    Fire?
Hey everyone, I bought a few males in a package deal locally (the owner had passed away, very sad tragic situation) and I took the last 5 snakes he had. This was an experienced breeder so I hate to question the morphs....but since I cannot speak with the owner because he passed away, and it is not known where the individual snakes came from I thought I would post here to get everyone's opinion. I will be posting two--this thread is for the Fire. I will also be posting a pic of a supposed Black pastel. In addition to these 2 snakes I also purchased a male pin (very nice looking), a male spotnose, and a male mojo (nice example of a mojo)....so these were sold to me as morphs NOT normals.

I know morphs can greatly vary in color...as well as quality...so he very well may be a fire. I have never had a fire, and I guess when saw him in person he was just a bit darker than I expected a fire to be...however he does appear a great deal lighter than my normals. Thanks for your opinion...and as a side note, I do understand the only way to prove a morph is to breed it....which I am doing. I bred this Fire to 2 normals so we shall see what he throws :)

I'd say not a fire. He lacks the creamy color and the head stamp that is atypical to the Fire morph. My Fire male, there is no mistaking what he is.

I hate to say it but this is another normal like the "black pastel".

I'm going to say normal again as well... It lacks the blushing and flames fires are characteristic as well, but it's hard to tell w/o a side shot.

Can you get a side and belly shot?

Yeah I can get a side and belly shot tonight when I get home.

Thanks for the responses...don't think I wasn't expecting it....if I really thought he was a fire I wouldn't have posted. I have seen quite a few photos of fires and when I saw this snake in person I was just surprised because he was much darker than I had expected a fire to be.

But when someone sells you a snake as a proven fire, and this snake was in the collection of a morph breeder for 3 years....I sort of figured it was a worth a shot in the dark thinking maybe he was just a low quality fire.
