Supers' cannibalism

Will super worms eat each other just because they can? or is cannibalism an indication of a husbandry issue? I keep finding half eaten corpses in the tub they are in.

Is that a sign that they aren't getting enough moisture? I give them carrots for moisture since may people state that it's best. Just trying to figure out why they are getting eaten.

Though I have never bred supers, it does sound to me like they may not have enough food/moisture. They may also just be naturally cannibalistic. Hopefully someone else will be able to chime in here

I think I figured out how to fix it. I put some egg crate over the carrots and it seems like they are now unafraid to go the carrots and get moisture

they are cannabalistic due to lack of moisture. dont know what they eat but i keep my feeder supers in rolled oats & have used potatoes for moisture but didnt like how quickly they would go bad & didnt know what else to try...now i do. :D
i buy 25 every 10 days or so & typically lose up to 10 by the time i go back for more.
i want to breed them myself but dont know how to get a proper set up going for them.
can someone give me a list of what i'd need to get a small sized breeding set up? thx.

Yup that is an old one.

I breed supers, you need a large tub they seem to prey on each other for moisture and if over crowded. I use oatmeal and cream of wheat substrate I feed greens carrots and bug burger from Repshdy (sp?) they love it. That part is easy to raise beetles I have a separate container a smaller tub and I have a small part container. I will pick out the largest supers and place one each in the divided container. They in a while will turn to crystalists and then beetles. The beetles go in the smaller container and get the same treatment as supers. Keep checking through the substrate for little worms when they start to appear pull the beetles out to a new container and let the worms grow to about an inch then add them to the main. Easy.

I rarely buy anymore every now and again I need to add some yesterday was the first time this year.
