Ceramic bulb vs incandescent bulb

I know that ceramic bulbs are believed to be much stronger than normal incandescent bulbs, and last longer, however I am just curious as to everyone's experience between the two types of bulbs. I currently use a 50 or 60 watt infared exo terra bulb and a heat mat for my current setup (20gal long) which has been perfect (eating every 5 days, sheds real nice, ect).........AND I do plan on sizing up within the near future to maybe a 2ft tall, 4ft long, and 2-2 1/2 ft deep tank. Does 1 or 2 say 150 watt ceramics (hooked up to a thermostat of course) and probably 2 heat mats sound like a solid amount of heat for the new dimensions?

I would go in a completely different direction that glass tanks (PVC reptile enclosures are much better and easier to keep proper temperatures/humidity)

I would stick with Infrered heat bulbs if you chose to stick with the glass tanks. Just make sure that your UTH is regulated by a thermostat to provide the basking temperature (remember that they do not effect air temperatures) and a infrared bulb to maintain the air temps

Also a 4 x 2 x 1 cage L x W x H is best for BP's

I have all my tanks setup on Ceramic Heat emmiters and love it less wattage and no light to keep me up at night :)

I used the CHEs for about a month and could not keep the humidity up high enough (I misted the tank so much that the substrate started to mold).
Once I bought an undertank heater, humidity is MUCH easier to control!
If you are using an undertank heater AND a heat lamp, your room temps are way too cold, IMO.

Yeah I used a ceramic once and it seemed as though the humidity was sapped quickly by the power of a ceramic bulb. Well I keep my room at about 70 degrees, and with a 50 or 60 watt bulb on the one side and its directly over a log hide. On the log hide the temps are about 90 but inside the log its about 85ish. Then i have the uth on the other side at 90. The middle of the cage is the "cold" spot which is about 79-81. At any given point I will see him in on the uth, in the log or in the cold spot. I really haven't had any problems with eating or shedding so i assume everything is kosher
