Question for the breeders
Yesterday I picked up 2 new balls. One is a proven male nerd line lemon pastel who comes in just under 700 grams. The other is a normal female who is right at 1700 grams and has produced in the past but not bred this year. My question is after their quarantine time is up do I still have a shot at getting them to breed this season?
Re: Question for the breeders

spooky
Re: Question for the breeders
Did you get them from different breeders?

Alot of times a female that has bred before will keep breeding on that schedule. Even after taking a year off. But if she has only bred once its alot easier to get her on a different schedule. I breed all year round by setting my girls up in groups. My fall girls breed in the fall every year, my spring girls stay on the spring schedule and the summer girls stay on their schedule. My males will breed whenever as long as they continue to feed them
I do pretty much do the same thing. I also have girls that have laid already this year, some in Spring, summer and fall. I always believe you should watch your female, not the calendar, they will tell you when THEY are ready;)

So basically what I'm hearing is after quarantine I should put them together and just see what happens?

You have nothing to lose. Introducing a male can sometimes initiate a females breeding cycle. At the end of the day she is only going to produce eggs when she is cycling and since you don't know when she usually lays eggs, she could be a late season gal, you never know until she tells you;)
