My school runs Project Terrapin, which focuses on studying, breeding, and reintroducing diamondback terrapins into the NJ marshlands. So naturally, there are lots of turtles of various species all over the building, mostly donated/rescued sliders and terrapins that can't be bred or released.
But I noticed recently that a lot of our tanks seem too small or overcrowded for these turtles. But, I'm no turtle expert. So I was wondering what you guys thought?

The hatchling bin. Only 3 hatchlings in here now, but there can be about 200 at once some times.

These are just the turtles in the turtle room. There are other turtles elsewhere in the school in similarly-sized aquariums.
