better pair?
im getting another adult normal female to breed to my mojave male.
normal female 1400 grams has been locked up with a spider multiple times. And is a proven breeder$150obo
normal female 1250 grams has been locked up with a pastel multiple times and is a proven breeder $150 obo
which would be a better female to get?

Why would anyone sell adult females that may be gravid?

My thoughts exactly...sounds kinda fishy. My only thought would be maybe they alredy hatched out morph females this year that they know for sure are going to replace those 2 normal girls so they need the room now and dont mind letting them go...

I would go with the 1400 gram female, 1250 is pretty light to be breeding. I also agree that something isn't right with this... why would anyone sell a female that they are breeding? There may be a totally reasonable explanation but there might not be as well. I would advise caution and ask lots and lots of questions, don't assume anything.

Both snakes sound strangely cheap for possibly gravid, proven females. Might just want to pass on that seller. If you want to pair her up with your mojave, why would you get one that's already been locking? Maybe I'm misunderstanding...

there would be a possibility of a split clutch and if nothing else it is a breeder sized female... enough said

Though I'm not particularly speaking of this instance, some things to keep in mind....
Nothing fishy or off about it...not that you see them all the time, but plenty of females that have locked with males or even gravid females are bought/sold quite often.
As far as the weights, 1,250 grams isn't necessarily too light to be breeding, all depends on the individual snake. As for it being a proven breeder and breeding again at 1,250 grams, it could be 1 of 3 things...
1) The female is NOT a proven breeder
2) Maybe she hasn't regained a great amount of weight and could benefit from not breeding this year.
3) She could just be a small snake...it happens.
Either of the 3 scenarios is entirely plausible, which would logically bring you to this...

Rule of thumb when buying whether it be from Ralph Davis or Joe down the street. Ask questions and be confident in your purchase. If you're not confident, do not buy.

That is true. I just don't see why someone would want to sell them at that point! Man.
