Shedding

We have a 4 month old ball python who is shedding for her 1st time in our care. she has shed twice previously before we bought her. She eats once every week and her temp stays at about 75 or 80 degrees and we keep her humidity anywhere between 40 & 60. Her eyes started getting milky and glazed over earlier this week and just yesterday morning they were completely glazed. We get home last night and her eyes are back to their normal color but she hasn't shed....is this normal?

Yes that is normal, the snake will shed any day now for you. You say your temps are at 75 to 80. I do hope you are talking about the cool side of the enclosure. What are you measuring temps with?

It's mine and my boyfriends snake...we have a temp gauge and humidity gauge. He knows more about it then i do. and the temp gauge is on the warm side...so i guess that would mean thats the temp on that side. is that wrong?

The warm side temps should be 88-92. The cooler temps are fine at 75-80.

Also for future sheds, when you notice them start the cycle, get your humidity up to 70 to help the shed process. I like to put some damp spaghum moss in a hide to help thel rub shed off amd with humidity. And yes, they clear up from blue and usually shed with in a few days.

well we're working on getting the humidity up. we have a spray bottle that we use to spray her tank down and that seems to help get it up more. we're still looking for other ways to get it up. we're considering purchasing a waterfall to put in there. and also a mister

What is your substrate? Eco earth will help with humidity, also a large water dish on/under your heat source.

we are using aspen. which the pet shop said would be the best to use to keep her from getting infections and keep it from harming her. and we have a medium sized water dish as well. and then we spray it often.
