Attaching temp probes safely?

Hello all. I recently purchased a few digital temperature probes for my snakes, which was a bit overdue. The probes themselves came with suction cups to attach them to the glass. However, they dont seem to stick very well at all. Is there a recommended, safe way to keep them in place? I briefly considered using tape of some kind but thought it was too risky for the snakes.

I'm trying to keep the probes directly over the UTH, and even with the substrate over them it shifts around a lot.

I use hot glue, tape should never be used inside the enclosure. Just hot glue the probe's cord and if needed add just a drop to the probe itself.

The hot glue isn't hot enough to melt the rubber layer on the wire or mess it up someway ??

I would think so but if you've done it then I'll take it from you.

I think Ive seen that you use paper towels as substrate, but I would think if you use Eco earth or cypress it would make it a little tougher to clean around the glued parts??

No it wont melt.
And it will be harder to clean but not impossible.
