Yeah...I'm going to update this post from now on and stop updating my sig. :)
I have been kidnapped by tarantula's.....they're holding me hostage :P
I prefer updating one post all the time instead of my sig, and this list is way to long for my sig these days...even if it were condensed :)
Re: My entire what I keep list
Wow, you have a LOT of tarantulas! How do you cage them (in a rack system maybe?)
Re: My entire what I keep list
Well, I finally put up the shelves I've owned for over a month, that currently holds half of the T's, and the other shelves have some misc stuff on them. (the other containers are too small to fit on the large wire shelves without something on the wire shelf). I acutally only own 4 that are near adult size. The rest of are in that "juvie" stage, around 3" or less from leg to leg diagonally. I don't expect to be keeping them all either, I expect some of them to be mature males. I'll find the male T's a date on arachnoboards and send them off to go bred :P
Tarantula's take up very little space. My G pulchra is the largest of my terristral T's right now. It's living in a tank about the size of a 5.5 gallon. It has enough space to hide, molt, wander for food, and find water.
Tarantula's rarely move very far from their burrows or web retreats in the wild.
It is only with the adults that I couldn't fit all of the T's on one shelf at this time.
Most of the people I know keep them in plastic sweaterboxes or shoeboxes. Arboreal T's are often kept in containers that would otherwise hold cereal or sphagetti noodles..something like that.
As an example, you can see a picture of one of the major invert dealer's tarantula room here. I think Botar said he has something like 5000 spiders.
