    So...
Is $120 a good deal for a male lemon pastel and a female normal?

Both are juvies probably 2010-11 judging by size. Couldn't find any solid answers on how much Lemon Pastels ran.

As always, it depends on the animals. Have you seen any pictures? Are they eating? What are they eating? Is the breeder local or will they require shipping? Lots of things factor into it.

On the surface, that sounds like a deal I would take close look at, but I tend to be very careful about good deals.

If there is nothing wrong, they are at proper weights, feeding normally and properly sexed, seems like a good deal to me. :gj:

Same here, never can be too careful. It is an add on CL, so they are near by. they claim they are good eaters. I haven't seen any pics at this time. I will not fully make a decision until I have seen them in person. I'm just wondering if assuming all is okay with them, that it was a good deal.

I would definitely ask for feeding, shedding and pooping records on both. If they don't have them, I personally wouldn't do business considering they aren't one of the big breeders and if they aren't keeping records, then they might not be caring for the snakes properly.

Let us know how it goes! :)

Thanks for the input. I am honestly thinking I will just save my money and wait till Birmingham Repticon this summer. I just wanted to make sure that wasn't just a great deal that I couldn't pass up. Since I know so little about Lemon Pastel prices and can't find a good example online.

I think it's a fine price...nothing that raises any flags...pretty much par as far as prices go, IMO. It's not like a $1,000 snake being sold for $300-that would raise flags immediately. You always take chances when buying an animal. Probably more so when buying off CL ads. If you check them out, all is well, then go for it if you want them. Again, it depends on the quality of the snakes, their eating habits, weight/size/age, etc...

As far as keeping records goes, I am all for it, but this could very well be a person's only 2 snakes that they realized they no longer wish to keep. They could be perfectly taken care of without any records being kept. I, for one, could easily manage a few snakes with no record keeping at all. I'm just playing a little devil's advocate here, but lack of record keeping does not equal lack of care.
