I have ceramic tiles in the bottom of my bearded dragon cage, they have held up fairly well so far. I would think that you could groute them onto the sides of the tank.
You might need to rough up the glass to make things stick better.

I have tried that before and it was a bit of a pain. It is very watery and is used to apply aquarium scenery to a tank almost the same way that window tint is applied...
