Head "up" or just head up?
Since Norma's RI hit I'm jittery about every little thing my other kids do.

What exactly is the "head up" position indicative of an RI?

My snakes are commonly to be found coiled up with their heads on their backs but now I'm paranoid every time I see them doing that.

Sorry for he crappy pix but I wanted them to remain just as they were when I saw them:

This is Leah who would normally be lurking sinisterly in her hide door since tonight's feeding night but she got the hide twirled around so the door is facing the back of the tub.

This is Mosby The Jerk who thinks he's a rattlesnake.

[also his feeding night and he's usually always lurking about on top of his hide...just watching]

Do either of those poses appear to be the bad 'head up' types?

Sorry to be a PITA but I worry......:(

I also have Norma soaking right now and she shoved her face underwater for quite a while.
I think she was drinking but couldn't tell for sure.

She has a water bowl in her QT...could it be 'too tall' for her to drink out of now, with the RI affecting her?
It's a standard crock bowl about 3'' tall and she's always used it before.

It's impossible to tell anything from those pictures.

Head up + mouth open & gasping around the mucus for air. It's hard to mistake for anything else.

They were just laying there watching me so I guess so far, so good.
I couldn't feel anything going on in their lungs and there's nothing odd in their nose or mouth.

    Norma's soak was amazing.

She looks twice as fat as she did.

I gave her a shallow bowl of water in case she's having trouble drinking out of her usual bowl.

    She seems more comfortable.

Laying with their heads up doesnt mean anything(unless their weezing, coughing, with mouths open, and producing mucus), mine are always commonly resting their heads on things and themselves and none of them have RI.

Thank you for the comforting words.

I'm a paranoid nervous wreck right now.
