Left his food there!?!>!

So my ball just attacked and killed the ASF. He started to eat it, but from its legs instead of it's head. Anyway, he stopped and has now just left it there. What is going on!? Should I leave it?

Leave it in with him for a few hours and leave him alone. He still might take it.
