I guess a T-Shirt would work... it isn't commonly used though. I suggest that you use paper towels.

I prefer inferred heat bulbs over backlights, but for now what you have is probably is fine.

How big is your tank and what type of thermometer are you using/ how many do you have/ what are you using to measure humidity?

90 degrees is the proper temperature for the hot side of the tank. the cool side needs to be between 78 and 82 degrees.

don't waste your money on those things. go to Walmart and get one of these, they cost $12 have 2 temperature sensors and a humidity sensor all in one package plus they last longer

This is what your set up should look like

*note: there isn't a thermometer in the tank i n the picture. I currently don't use glass tanks and I just threw this together for a picture... all of my thermometers are screwed into my current enclosures

The tank in the picture is a 10 gallon glass aquarium

you should feed him every 4 days until he is about a year old then feed him every 7-10 days. do you have a scale? the best way to determine how much to feed your snake is by weight. a ball python should be fed a rodent that weighs 15% of the snakes body weight. (so a 100 gram snake should eat a rodent that weighs 15 grams)

pictures of the pimple/rash things would be helpful. look very carefully at the underside of your snake, do you see any black dots/bugs on him?

after we get this pimple/rash thing sorted out you should put him back in his tank and leave him alone for a week (don't try to feed him, don't pick him up... anything) he needs to settle into his new home.

also here is a great website to get supplies from:

    http://reptilebasics.com/

The hide boxes in the picture of the tank I put up are from this site, they come in a few different sizes

here is the mini, small, and medium size hides in comparison to a 200 gram female pastel ball python (about 2 months old)

    http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/...t/da98c371.jpg

she uses the small size hides.

here is a link to the page where the hides are:

and here is a good place to buy feeder rodents:
