    They live to frustrate us.

I do know that they hug the water bowl while they are building. Once they ovulate, they hug the heat. So, ridge back check, not eating check, not hugging the heat should mean not yet.

I've only got one clutch under my belt, but I do remember this being true. She seemed so huge to me, I was waiting and waiting and waiting, and no eggs. When I finally got tired of waiting, and gave up all of a sudden there were eggs! This year I'm doing better. I have learned to tell they are just building now, none of mine have ovulated yet, even though they look huge.

You should see my 3500 gram female. She hasn't ovulated yet, but to me she looks like a retic!

This time around I can definitely tell she's just building so far. I haven't seen an ovulation yet, and she's not hugging the heat yet, so I'm still waiting. It feels like just short of forever, but I'm handling it much better this year than last. I actually have 3 females for sure building, one I'm not so sure of, and one is still lumping up and just getting going on her build.

There are a few nice video's on I believe it was Ralph Davis' site that shows females building, ovulating and prelay, they helped me know what to look for.

    Don't overthink it.
Just keep throwing the male in until she's consistently refusing him for a few weeks, and then wait. lol...

One absolute rule about ball pythons, they never follow the rules.
