aggresive feeders?

i was reading an articl about spider BP's and it said that there known for being more aggresive feeders than other snakes. is that true or just abunch of crap?

I have a Bumblebee breeder male who never misses a meal, and a spider female (daughter) who is about to hit 900g at only 8 months old, so I'm definitely a believer. :gj:

My spider BP is my best eater and a puppy in temperament. He is my favorite of all of my snakes.

My female spider is one of my favorites. She is a very aggressive eater, however she wasn't when I first got her at 105 grams. She was a mouser for a while then randomly switched to rats for me, and she hasn't looked back since. She's also very docile and sweet, very handleable, and has never even struck at me. Plus, their quirky little wobble is adorable.

Definitely. The Bee is the first one I get out when people want to see the snakes. :D

My spider is middle of the road when it comes to feeding and incredibly shy...I think it varies per animal.

I have mixed feelings on this. My spider male rarely refuses food. He used to eat even when he was in shed and he's super sweet. My spider female can be very defensive when she wants to and is just an okay feeder. She refuses about 20% of the time.

My two bumble bee females are like night and day. One female will eat anything and has grown really well with me. The other one is about 50/50 on if she feels like eating. For a while she was taking f/t like she was going to eat it and then she never swallowed it. Both of them are fairly sweet though.

My best feeders are my fire, ph caramel glow and lemon pastel. All of them will eat whatever I offer them any time of the day. My fire was crazy to feed for a while. If she downed her rat before I finished feeding the rest of the rack or if I didn't feed her first she would start striking at the side of the tub until I gave her a rat. :rolleyes:

i baught my spider because of the price and i liked the way it looked and as soon as he sees the tongs he gets in a striking position lol...hasnt missed a meal for me yet. he is still a bit shy but hes only about 2 months old

I've been pretty lucky with my ball pythons; all of them are voracious but I think my normal girl has my spider beat. She always snags them right when they are dropped in with my male spider taking about 30 seconds. Also, both my spider and my normal are my "garbage disposals"; if my pastel doesn't feel like eating, they are more than happy to take her meal. :D
