quick easy question about a probe????
so i just got rid of my crappy zoomed thermostat and upgraded to a herpstat.... my question is what is the best way to make the probe stay in place.... i know tape is a major NO NO in the snake world so what ideas has everyone else come up with?????

Hot glue the cord in place and also put a drop of hot glue on the tip of the probe. Just don't cover it with glue as it will insulate the probe and throw off your readings.

How are you heating? If youre using a tank + Under tank heater, the herpstat probe should be on the outside of the tank, between the glass and the UTH, in the center.

If you are using flexwatt, the herpstat probe can be foil taped anywhere on the flexwatt, preferably close to the middle.

Your thermometer probes are the ones that will be hot glued inside the tank or tub.

I just wanted to point out, the sensor portion of the herpstat probe is in the tip and the guys at spyderrobotics recommend that you don't tape or glue anything on the very tip of the probe. Also, they don't recommend the use of foil tape to secure the probe but tons of people do secure the probe that way. . .
