    Three new residents
I have three new residents to my apartment. A blue tongue skink, a beardie and a brooks king snake came home with me today. Their owner could no longer keep them so they were given up for free. I will be keeping the BTS and bring the other two to the local herp society meeting on Friday where they will hopefully find new homes (I really should just start a reptile rescue ). The beardie needs a larger cage and the BTS could use a wider cage but I think he will be okay with one he is in. The beardie is in a 29gal and the BTS is in a 55gal. I'm still learning with these species though so I could be wrong. I wasn't expecting the bring the beardie home with me, just the BTS and the king. Any advice on how I can make sure the beardie is happy during the week I have him would be great, and any advice on the BTS is more than welcome. :)

I think the best part is that they were obviously well loved and cared for, these weren't rescue cases. Yeah there are dial gauges stuck in the tanks, but they are all fat and happy (the BTS being a little more on the fat side than the others, he's going to be put on a diet for a while :P). :D

That's awesome! I LOVE the Brooks Kings and if ever my wife and I get our house sold and we finally settle somewhere for more than a few years at a stretch, I'd love to get one. If you have pictures of him/her, I'd love to see them...live vicariously, lol! Their patterns are amazing as "normals" and some of the variations/morphs (?) in the captive-bred animals are real eye-catchers. Good job getting those guys and doing right by them; good luck and hope it goes well for you finding them good permanent homes!

I will try to get some pictures of the brooks king up later today. He had a pretty stressful day yesterday that included falling off my table. The silly little guy pushed him self off in the snake bag while I wasn't looking.

I am the unofficial adoption coordinator for my herp society, I may end up being the full time adoption coordinator if no one steps up, so I'm sure you'll see a few more posts like this one in the future. :)
