Help with my first ever snake (Ball python)
Hey guys, I'm going to be getting my VERY FIRST snake next week and I've done all the research possible, and I am very very excited! :D but one question, ( because I've heard different opinions). My bp will be about only 5 weeks old, so still a baby, so what size tank should I start off with and how long will I have that tank before I need a bigger one?

    Thanks a ton :D

Do you want to use a glass tank or tub? There are also custom snake enclosures made from PVC

Any can be made to work but some are harder than others.

To be cost effective I would get a 15 quarts tub and upgrade as needed until the animal is ready for his final enclosure which in that case a 30 gallons tank will be sufficient.

I was thinking a 20 gallon long with a sliding lid. That's what I told was best

I started out with a 10 gallon tank. Blacked the sides and back so he would feel more secure. Tubs are so much better. They hold humidity so much better.

Can't wait to see your new baby.

Glass tanks are the worst, I would go with a tub or a PVC cage, tubs are the cheapest but will have to be upgraded over time, while a PVC cafe costs more but can be used the rest of the snakes life (you use a divider to limit the size)
