Take it from someone who has bred thousands of dumbos and a good share of top eared ratty's, there is zero difference in personalities.
Nice agouti baldie(top picture) and champagnes(pink eye'd cuties) Kinra :gj:

I dunno, my blue dumbo boys are so laid back as to be surfer dude rats.
But then, they ARE related, so perhaps it's just the family line, not the ears. Hmmm.
Those are very adorable ratties!

It's all about the genetics, there is some very well bred top eared ratty's out there.
Because dumbo rats have been bred more for pets than feeders more of them percentage wise might be tamer, but it's really a case by case situation.
I've had top eared breeders that were amazingly tame and friendly.

Cute additions you've got there! I had a female similar in color/pattern to your "Star"; I named her "Star Child", lol! Not a huge K.I.S.S. fan but it made for interesting conversations...
I agree about the genetics factoring into the personality more than the type; I have a dumbo female who is spastic to the point of I feed all of her babies rather than keep any for grow outs. On the flip side, I have a top/standard ear female who is the calmest animal I've ever met...she takes baths, will hang out on my shoulder while I clean tubs, doesn't mind me rubbing her tummy while she's free to run if she wants...needless to say, I'm keeping all of her offspring to raise for the next generation of breeders, lol!

Thanks everyone! :) It's really amusing for me right now because my two new ones don't know what to make of the cage or the hammock and the Chocolate and Vanilla have already gotten used to these things. :P
Thank you Jerry for telling me what they are called, that was going to be a question I asked soon. :)

Understandable. Maybe it's the shape of their face and ears that make them look sweeter on top of mine being calm. Like they are doing a mind trick on us.

I agree the dumbo eared rats have that cuteness factor :)
