Just wanted to Say hi as i am new
Like the topic says HI:D I have read this forum for awhile when I was looking for info on things that related to my sons Christmas present. Me an dmy wife got him a baby BP which we all love. My son is like me in many ways because he loves watching the discovery Channel to learn about animals and his love to look for snakes in the summer which I have done since I was 5. My sons BP name is Fang and he just got through his second shed since we have had him and unlike the first one it was a complete success as it come out as one:banana: Now that he has finished with that our troubles of fixing the next problem that we have to work on is getting rid of MITES , I noticed them in Dec. and I had been using Jurrasimite but that would only get rid of them tempory. I have ordered mite off and prevent a mite for his cage but before they get here I plan on giving hima a betadine diluted bath and I will be washing down his home as well as his furniture to get a head start. If anyone has any more info that may help please let me know. This is are first BP and snake so I am new to all of this even with all the research I have done I am always finding out new things.

Perfect temperatures and humidity in the cage will help make your snake more comfortable, but this is going to be stressful for both of you. Mites are a serious problem that can be caused by many things.
This is by no means a comprehensive list of things to do. I'm sure others will post something, do a search on this site for mites, I'm sure you will find tons of good information that way.

Welcome to BP.net! Provent A Mite is great stuff and works very well; however, it can be toxic to your snake if used improperly so follow the directions to THE LETTER as far as the application of it. Not trying to alarm you or otherwise make your experience more stressful than what it currently is, just a word of caution in how you use it. Follow the directions and you'll be mite free and have a happy, healthy snake in no time. Again, welcome and good luck with things!
