    No Shed in 9+ weeks??
    Hi all!

I bought a carpet python about 9 weeks ago. He was born in June 2010. He's been a finicky eater so he has only eaten 2 (decent size) rats since i've bought him.

He shed the day before I got him (he even had a bit of leftover shed on his tail the day i brought him home). It's been over 9 weeks since I've had him and he has not shed for me yet. His colors have been dull for about a week, maybe more.

My humidity is not too low, i even have a young ball python that has shed perfectly twice since i've brought the carpet python home with similar humidity in the enclosure (if anything, the carpet has higher humidity than the ball).

    Is this normal??

    Thoughts?

    Thanks in advance

I've read that carpets tend to have 3 month shed cycles.

I dont know about Carpets but my Hognose hasnt is just in his first shed now and ive had him for about 8 months. A week ago he ate his first mouse in 3 months so I guess that had something to do with it, but still..

He will be fine. When I first got my Jungle Cross it shed for me about twice into owning him. He went from 54 grams to 108 grams in about three months and didnt shed til he hit the 108 mark. Yours isnt eating much so there isnt a lot of growth.
