How to prevent face rubbing?

2 of my snakes have been rubbing their chins raw against their tubs. My husbandry is spot on so I don't think its stress. They're really active at night and only rub themselves during this time. I guess they really just want to escape...
How can I prevent them from hurting themselves more?

have your checked for mites?

Are you sure your husbandry is up to par? I am not doubting you but I do notice that when my room is to warm and it gets warmer in my snakes tubs they also do this face rubbing and trying to escape from their tubs.

Yeah. My tubs are at good temps. The 2 snakes in question are notorious for taking themselves out for a stroll (dont worry, the tubs are escape proof now). However, now they're rubbing their faces in the sides and roof of their tubs to the point of open sores. One of them may need an upgrade in tub size soon, so maybe she's just telling me to do so quicker? Mmm

I noticed issues with face rubbing when the holes in my tubs were too big. I guess it made them think there was a chance they might be able to escape, so they tried harder. Now that the holes in all my tubs are just small pokes from the soldering iron, they don't do it any more.
