    Experienced male beardie keepers. Question!
So how long is this post-brumation fit going to last??

My boy was 2 years old in Sept I believe? He just came fully out of brumation and is eating much more and is wide awak. The problem is, my sweet, tame, calm, gentle dragon has gone with the wind!

Someone told me his behavior is normal and he will eventually get over it. Can some others verify this? Is it his hormones?

He's all over the enclosure constantly clawing up the sides and jumping up and down from his ledges. He seems annoyed by his crickets. He doesn't want me to pick him up or hold him. He's started tail whipping a little until I actually get him scooped up and then just continuously tries to get away (sharp claws hurt!) He will still take greens and worms from my hand but otherwise he's being a complete jerk this entire last week.

    How long does this last??

Im not experianced but your male might want some love if you know what I mean :gj:

Give him a bit to realize he isnt going to get freaky and I am sure he will calm down.

Besides that. Maybe he just needs some time to get his brain working again. Everyone is in a bad mood after they wake up. All I can say is give him some space for a bit.

    Best of luck.

Quick pic (color is way off) of him actually sitting still for a second this weekend and looking quite drab. He's usually brighter yellow fired up but he's not too happy when I bother him lately and he goes dark.

He's usually a sweetheart as you can see.. But now he's being a little pain in the butt!

That picture of your boy with your kitten just about made me DIE, it was so darn cute! I'm always jealous, as my cat would kill me if she could.

I have a 4 month old Beardie, who may or may not be female (leaning towards male), but I belong to a bearded dragon forum, and this is pretty common with males. It's a puberty thing. He may be darker because he's showing his dominance. You're just going to have to work through it. The worst thing you could do is leave him be. It'll be harder to tame him later. Just make sure you don't put him up when he's being bad. He'll start acting up when he wants to be put up, which is not positive behavior.

Be patient. His hormones are all berserk. Best of luck. :) There's no fix-it magical cure (sadly), it's all about positive reinforcement and holding out when he's being a brat.

As long as he eventually gets over this I guess I can deal with it for awhile., lol

My cat is the biggest love bug ever! I feel so lucky to have her. I've never seen a cat more lovable! The moment I sit or lay down for a second, she's on me..

AWWWW! I must say, extremely jealous. :D She is so precious!

I suppose I admire my cat for how vicious she is. There is no doubt in my mind that she would survive in the wild! ;)
