Burmese Cold Tolerance Question

I am doing an argumentative essay for school and was wondering if there is a generally accepted temperature point at which burms are killed. (To help prove that they aren't going to take over the country ;)) I have not been succesful at finding it. I know it is impossible to say for sure, but I think it would make an impact to have some sort of temperature down (That is from a reliable source of course!).

Reading these reports by the Bakers would be a great place to start. I can't find their original study they did years ago with a group of snakes in outdoor enclosures in Illinois during cold temps (maybe someone else can) but there are some good reports here anyway.

I think they, the BaRkers, are the only reliable source around. Some of the articles published recently are completely insane, the conclusion contradicts the results of the experiment.

I've sent them an email asking if I can get a link to the original cold tolerance study they did years ago. I know it was done with mostly boa's and I can't remember if there were any burms in the mix but it was also a great study. I'll post it if I hear back from them.

Well considering the frosts of 2010 killed of alot of these invasive monsyer killer snakes we keep hearing about i think its safe to say they are not going to survive even in the keys not to mention north of the keys. The only state in the country pythons would be able to survive long term i would say is hawaii but considering how tight there reptile laws have been on the islands thats not gonna happen. So i think we have a better chance of being killed by zombies then pythons lol

When you think about it, almost as silly is the fact that many more people are attacked and injured by bucks during rutting season!

Ah!! It IS still on their site. I just overlooked it because the date says 2008. It's the one that says will they come in out of the cold. The study was in 1968. Here is the link..
