What Would Be a Good Price? And What Is It?
Well someone showed up at the pet store and wanted to buy our tegu! They gave us a little red tail and we took $50 off. It does NOT look like a normal one. Thinking hypo? And what would be a good starting price point? About 18-20" long, male. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7149/6...91226dfdc7.jpg

Nevermind. I'm thinking salmon. Does $125 sound good?

I thought hypo the minute I saw it. More pics with better lighting would help. The price depends largely on the coloration or the animal.

Salmon = Hypo. $125 might be a little much for a standard hypo boa.

Agreed, although I think $125 would be ok for a female. Especially with such nice coloration. If it's male, though, I wouldn't go over $100.

Now if it's het for something, het ghost or het sunglow for example, it could be worth double that. Unfortunately, in this situation, without having documented proof from a reputable breeder, if they say it is het for something you have to assume that it is NOT until it's proven out by breeding it one day. That's the risk you run when buying hets from someone you don't know.

Salmon is a bloodline of hypo. They are one and the same. This snake is definitely a hypo, but whether or not its het for something is impossible to know until its bred. :gj:

Thanks! I think it'll go for $89.99 how's that sound? Too cheap?

That is a reasonable price for a hypo boa. As stated before, unless it is het for something. It looks like a nice snake though! :)

Since's it's a male, that seems fair. I wouldn't go below that though. Just as we said $125 could be too much, this is a really nice hypo and you don't want to go too low either. $90 seems about right. :gj:

Looks like a nice hypo to me!
I don't think $125 is too much to ask at a pet store.

Petco sells normals for $159 where I live.
