Live to frozen
How should I thaw out the mouse and present it to my bp?
-
I like to thaw out in a warm or room temperature room overnight or for a few hours. If you're just transitioning over, you also might want to get a hair dryer, and after it's thawed, right when you're about to feed, get the head of the mouse/rat nice and hot with it. GL! :)

I use warm water, but sometimes when they coil it, it gets covered in bedding.
-
I thaw in a plastic bag, in hot water until they're completely thawed through. Some of mine will take them at whatever temperature and some want them piping hot (ok...regular rodent temperature), so I'll hit them with the hair dryer for a few minutes.
Some of mine will take them right off the tongs. I grab the rodent by the back legs/tail and dangle it above the snake's head. Snatch. Coil. Consume.
Some want me to "dance" it for them. For those, I'll grab the rodent by the scruff of the neck and "walk" it around the tub. It's horribly annoying and I don't think I'm a very good "zombie rat dancer," because I've only had moderate success with this. I think I move it too fast...

They have a chart based on size for thawing times.
Shouldn't defrost using warm water, only at room temperature. Once thawed you can use a hair dryer to bring the core temps up above room temps.

I am not a fan of wet rodents, so I thaw at room temp or in a bag in warm water, then hit with the hair dryer. Got a funny look when I bought it since I shave my head..... but anyway.
I have never in the years of feeding frozen thawed had an issue with thawing out under warm water?
-
One little tip - I tried using my wife's hairdryer and the mouse smelled very nice but not like a mouse when I was done. The snake wouldn't go near it.
I place the frozen rodent in the fridge the night before I need it. I then just need to heat it a little rather than thaw before feeding.

I have thawed overnight in the fridge as well and it works great.

I have thawed mine out in warm water in ziploc bags for 5 years now and haven't had issues. The site also says:
"Putting prey, submerged, in warm or tepid water, will dramatically decrease times.
Thawing in warm or tepid water is NOT recommended for pinkies through fuzzies."
