    Pre-Ovulation Shed Question.
My girl has been paired routinely since November, with locks witnessed with every pairing. She went into blue a few days ago during the 'off pairing' days, and is going into her pre-ovulation shed (I'm assuming - she's been off feed for 3 months so it isn't a growth shed). She cleared up a bit by last night so I put my male back in. This morning, they were completely apart and seemingly disinterested in each other. Is that normal during the pre-ovulation shedding period? Or does it vary by animal?

Sounds pretty typical. This is when knowing how to palpate is a huge help. Good luck!

Once you figure it out, it's a great tool. It makes it much easier to track follicular growth and ovulation. Do you have any pics of your girl? That may help confirm things.

This is the most recent one I have - it's is from the end of December. She seemed to going into the glowing phase.

I'll snap a few tonight for comparisons.

Just to but in here, is there a pre and post ovulation shed??? That would explain why one of my females are in shed without ovulation.

It is normal for pairs to have interest in the beginning and than nothing and than show interest again.

I would forget about pre-ovulation shed this really is nothing you can rely on however I would rely on other signs

Glow, built, ovulation and Post ovulation shed.

Glow can start as early as 6/8 weeks before ovulation.

My advice to you since it is your first year, keep pairing until you witness an ovulation.

Also remember because you do not see anything does not mean nothing happens ;)
