Got eggs? (Dialup warning!)

Photos from March 9th...my female Malaysian yellow blood laid her first clutch...wheeee! :)

First off, here's a pic of Saffron with her hubby, "Mello Yello." Normally she's a brightly colored animal...I was surprised how much she darkened up while gravid!

Final count was 15 perfect eggs, no duds or slugs. The eggs were smaller than what I'd expected (bloods tend to lay big eggs), but I'm certainly NOT complaining!!!!

wow she did darken up a lot. veeeery nice looking bunch of eggs there. i'll be looking for more pics when they hatch. :)

whats the diff between duds and slugs?

and why is one of the eggs sorta wrikkled is that normal?

Duds = eggs that look perfect, but when candled, have no veins.

Slugs = immature ovum.

Wrinkly egg - she laid eggs outside of her nest box, so I would assume that's one that conformed to a wrinkle in the newspaper she laid them on while the egg was still very soft. Happens all the time.
