    How fast do beardie's grow?
    *Beardies (excuse my spelling)

My boyfriend just got a baby bearded dragon around Christmas. He's definitely grown some in the month we've had him. We feed him a diet mainly consisting of crickets and fresh veggies, calcium about 3 times a week sprinkled on his food. He's about six inches now including his tail. About how much could we expect him to grow in, say six months? a year?

Your feeding schedule sounds good so it just depends on the individual. You can expect him to get as long as 16'' at six months old but that'll be on the long end. Some will grow a little slower.

Mine was 16" at 7 months, and is now 18.5" at 3 years.

they grow quickly. just make sure you have the proper basking temperatures and UVA/UVB strip light running the length of the enclosure. they require a diet more weighted in favor of insects when they're young, which also contributes to proper growth, but don't neglect the greens either.

ancillary benefit is I found that I ate more salads when I kept bearded dragons so I didn't have to waste so much.
