Re: Old ('06) Costa Rica Trip
Thanks Satomi!
In '06 I went with an undergraduate class. We had two professors and really no guides - which worked out quite well. We didn't have to wait on anyone to be ready and left for hikes when we were scheduled to. During the first trip we started in San Jose (as most CR trips do) and went to El Zota Biological Field Station in near the town of Carriari. From there we went to Tortuguero and spent some time there with the sea turtles.
I also went in July this year, took my g/f for her birthday, to the Pacific side. We based ourselves in Dominical and did a bunch of stuff from there. Also got a chance to go to Arenal - beutiful! I'll be posting a bunch of photos from that trip on the blog sometime within the next few days.

Costa Rica is an amazing country - I absolutely love (almost) everything about it! That's fantastic that you were there to help spay/neuter some of the animals. They, as well as some other Latin American countries, have a huge problem with dogs and cats wandering around, breeding, and not being taken care of. One of my past professors, I think, has found a dog every trip and adopts it out back home (here in the states).
There is just so much to see - you should plan a trip back just for vacation.
