And we aren't comfortable with NIs especially with one shedding snake.

Damn little blood sucking &@¥^>€}£!!! I used a wet q-tip to remove the ones I could see on our boa and changed the paper towels while I was at it. Haven't seen any on our bp since treating but hubby will be checking him over again tonight. We can't retreat with PAM for another 1 1/2 weeks, I think? We treated Thursday. Regular paper towel changes. Is there anything we can do between now and our next PAM treatment to help kill them as we see them? We do have reptile relief on hand. I've been leaving them alone because ones in shed and our bp had a HUGE meal but also don't want a major mite issue. So far they appear to be mostly under control and I want to keep it under control until they are gone.

You can try the reptile relief. It may help get rid of the visible ones, but definitely retreat with PAM when it's time... Othr than that, I've heard a soak in lukewarm water with a drop of dawn dish soap will help drown them.

No dish soap shouldn't be a problem. It's literally a drop to a bath of water. All that does is break the water tension so the mites drown. But becareful to not do too many soaks before the shed. It will take the natural oils off of the snake and could give him a bad shed.

His eyes just cleared. I was thinking about soaking both of our guys tonight. Once should be fine? And our BP had a huge meal, 15% of his body weight, on Saturday. Would soaking potentially be a problem for him? :confused:

You should be fine but it isn't going to hurt him to wait a day or two for him to shed out first. Your call...

When Jackson had mites, I put him in a little tub of water with just a drop of dish soap. I kinda sloshed it around a little bit for bubbles, but that probably isn't necessary. He was also about to shed, and he did end up having an especially bad one. But on the other hand, it REALLY helped with the mites until my PAM arrived. Overall I thought it was pretty worth it, 'cause stuck sheds aren't too tough to fix, and mites are.

No kidding :mad: I think I may wait if it could cause a bad shed. This guy is new to us and I need to know what adjustments we may need to make in case this shed isn't complete. We've already treated the tanks with PAM so there is something currently working on the mite issue.
