too humid?

I just put my snake in a new enclosure and the first week everything was fine. A few days ago I noticed the the temps are good (91-93 hot and 75-80 cool) but the humidity is around 78-81 all the time. I have a plexi-glass lid on the tank with holes for vents. I use a UTH to heat. If I drill more holes in the lid I am afraid The temps will go down. Should i be concerned with the high humidity or will it be fine? thanks.

keep an eye on the bottom most scales on your snake i had a problem similar to that recently but you'll notice red coloring on the bottom of the snakes scales and that is the start of scale rot. if you lower the humidity or put her in a different enclosure those marks go away as long as it doesn't get too far along.

Ideally, you want to keep the humidity around 65% but from what I have been told - as long as you do not see any condensation forming on the sides of the enclosure - you should be fine.
