Meet Paul! My first ball python =]
My new ball python! Meet Paul =]

Sorry for the terrible quality, I was shooting with my old Droid. But this is Paul! I can't tell if he's a morph or a normal (his saddles seem a little thin, but that's about it), but he's pretty regardless.

Thanks guys!! I love the saddles, they're just thin enough that it looks like he could almost pass for a spider, hence my being unsure ;)

He might be a she though, in which case her name is Daija... Her tail tapers really fast and she has tiny spurs. I'm taking her into the vet next paycheck, so you'll have an update in about 2 weeks here.

Ha...I've never heard the term saddles used when it comes to bps...I think that's more of a boa term.

Definitely no...not a spider. 1st off they have green eyes. ;) But a fine looking normal! Normals are so varied in their appearances!

Just so you know...there is no way to tell the gender of a bp by appearance alone. Tail taper, spur size, preference for the seat up or down...doesn't matter. Only popping or probing the snake will show you...but if your vet is an experience herp vet, he or she should have no problem giving you a definite answer. :)

I've been trying to get a tongue-out picture ever since I've had my little boy, good job on that one! I love people names for pets, Paul is a good one. Congrats on your new snake!:)

@Katstoverreptiles thanks for clearing that up! I'm not very good with morphs yet, as you can tell haha. Also I've been exposed to boas a lot more, a couple of my friends have them, hence my terminology ^^ Also, "seat up or down"...
