Thanks to my wife buying rats now is akward.....
My wife was deathly afraid of snakes, untill we got our first BP hatchling, now we are at 8 and counting. Interestingly enough she is very outspoken. With our last visit at our local pet store, Kristy overheard the owner giving bad husbandry information to some young college kids. She walked right up and started explaining how that was wrong and began telling them how to properly care for a BP or a redtail.
Needless to say the owner didnt take to kindly to it and just kept saying his way was fine and that his snakes eat perfectly. My wife was satisfied in knowing that atleast those guys werent misinformed, now I just have to deal with dirty looks whenever I go to buy rats.....le sigh.:P

At least this way the potential owner will have some good information, and the snake may have a better chance. I too have a hard time keeping my mouth shut. Maybe you could fins a new food supply store????:rolleye2:

I DO try to be polite about it, at least at first. But if some hardheaded jerk tries to talk over me, I can get nasty. It's my Irish temper I'm afraid. ;)

I do the exact same thing with - well about every species I own, or have owned. Especially the amphibs and snakes. I'm usually very kind about it, until someone tells me I'm wrong. Then I ask them how many of their pets snakes have died, and tell them that none of mine ever have - for any reason.
It's pretty amusing :)
