Hi all, I live south of Indy and just got my first snake ever..lol (wife would never let me have one, but that is another story for a diff time).
I have had many various lizards growing up (43 yrs old now) and have always had a passion for these cold blooded creatures.
My one claim to fame is back in 88 or 89 having success breading wild caught water dragons. I know, I know it is no big deal, but it was for me back then as all you could find were wild caught dragons in the stores or other herpers around my area.
I was a member of the Pittsburg Herp Society (lived in PA) and would attend various meetings with my wife and daughter who was the youngest member.
Moved 15 yrs ago and now call Indiana home. When I first moved I would go to the Indy show with my daughter and check how things had progressed with breeding, morphs, variety, etc. even though we had no herps at that point in our lives.
My daughter is now 17 and has always wanted a snake so figured better get one now before she goes off to college or whatever and make some good memories.
About a month ago we go this guy off Clist and we are both hooked..lol. He is a great BP and is fitting well into our lives. He didn't have much meat on his bones when we got him and are on our way to plumping him up some. His name is Slider

He is darker than quite a few picks I see of Normal BP's...thinking of getting a real dark female normal and keep breeding dark to darker, etc.
Do you think I would end up with something neat? or is it just by chance that you get dark normals or genetic? thanks

    Well anyway...Hi

    Welcome to the site!
As far as your breeding question goes I woul say what youre thinking is possible. I know people always say breeding lighter normals to lighter morphs, like pastels, will yield brighter babies. There are so many smaller more subtle morphs out there, like spotnoses, that I dont se why you wouldnt be able to prove out dark normals.
