    Did we loose some members???
hey everyone!! Sorry i have been gone for a while things have been getting very busy with me as landscaping season is approaching and i have a lot of work to do to get the business ready for this season. This year was the innovation year where we bough all new and extreamly efficient equipment so ew cna really bang out the jobs make some serious money. We just bought a second pick-up truck so we can have 2 seperate crews working now. But anyway just wanted to say that i have not forgot about you guys, once i get settled into the new season you will see my around again haha, hold the standing ovation :)
But it seems that in the move there are just not as many members around, does anyone feel this way or is it just the fact that i have not been around?

The level of traffic is about the same - however the number of posting contributors has seemed to slack off. Also there seem to be an awful lot of members who log in and stay invisible for some reason.

The frustrations with the site the last few days on our prior host was understandable to say the least - and the paradigm shift to this new forum software may be daunting to some who have never seen vbulletin. The range of features it offers though leave plenty of room for growth - Marla and I as well as the rest of the staff have been elbows deep into getting things back into a format some may feel more comfortable with - and on that list of things a skin/style to match the classic look of our former forums is being developed at the same time new features are being integrated.

I imagine once we've got the earth tones back up you'll see a lot more traffic - and maybe disabling the invisibility mode might help the perception of less traffic.

with a little time the people will come back, also you have spring break going on right now all over the country so people are out and about and not posting.

My feeling is very much along the lines of Smulkins idea. I think that what happened over the last few days at the old site put a lot of people off. I don't for a second blame the staff at BPs.net for those problems, but they did upset a good number of people. Also, these vboards are very different from our old site in a lot of ways. Remember how freaked out some people got when the staff modified the look for the old site by putting a lot of the links into pulldown boxes!? Now imagine what those same people must think when they come onto this site & EVERYTHING is different. I will admit, I don't post nearly as much as I used to either. I know how to use vboards because I have before but something about it makes it feel, well, not like our old home. I know that the staff is doing everything that they can to make this a great site & I support them 100%. I won't stop coming around just because of the switch but it may take some time for me to "warm up" to the new look.

Rest assured MrZ and all mah good herping bretheren (and sisteren?) that move towards more familiar interfaces is being tweaked toward - but we cant push it out in a crumpled half-baked way all buggy - that would be adding insult to injury. VBulletin DOES a lot of cool things - but it does suffer from the kind of volvo-ish clunkity goodness. Not a lot of fun to drive but you're safe. Chief concern is getting the galleries repopulated and opened for you folks and importing our content (nearly done with the latter) - we plan on offering MULTIPLE interface options - one of which will feature hexidecimal color codes plucked directly from the old site's template and modeled to be as close as it can (without the broken header of course lol).

Your patience and support rocks, all of you - and we only spend time and effort doing this because we liked things (including yawls fine comp'ny) just as much as you did.

    Viva comunidad!

Maybe I'm not as savvy as some, but I feel like this new format is torture on my eyes, and I doubt I'm the only one who feels like that. I've been looking around to see if I can change the appearance on my user cp but I've had no luck with that.

I'm glad we are up and running again. I just feel like this isn't anywhere near as user-friendly as the last setup was.

Marla, Smulkin and mle are working like mad to get this site looking more like the old site. Hang in there, and before you know it, it will look more like the BP.net we know and love.
