new baby rats....question on what are they.
What's up. I've been breeding rats for about 3 months now and I love it. Im just getting g to learn that there are lots of colors and different kinds out there. Here's a pic of some of the cool looking babies I've got. Any help on identifying would be much appreciated. Oh...by the way the pairings were from my agouti rex(I think that's right) x black hooded female I got from a local breeder of feeder rats.....unknown genetics but also throws out albinos.my rex male is from a dumbo rex x albino female.

There were also black hooded and albinos in the two litters these babies are from.

Any help would be great. Hoping for some of the veteran rat breeders to chime in.

I'm far from a vetren rat breeder, so someone correct me if I'm wrong but from the pictures these look like one agouti hooded and a bunch of agouti selfs (berkshire if thier bellies are white). One of the selfs looks a little darker, possibly a mink...

Coats all look normal, although it's hard to tell with the pics.

They look agouti to me. I only see one visual hooded and like the previous post said, possible Berkshires. It's a little difficult to tell from the photos. The lighter ones may be Burmese or Mink.
Your rex male is het albino. So he carries the albino gene. Your female must as well since they're throwing out some albino offspring.

But you can tell if they're agouti if they have multi-toned fur. If you brush their fur backwards, it should be darker underneath.

I highly doubt there would be any Burmese in that litter. They are still quite rare due to rat breeders being very selective on who they adopt out to.

It's really hard to tell because of the lighting, but I see Agouti, Mink and maybe a Blue.

Burmese are kind of hard to make, I made a few after I started pairing pink eyed Siamese X agouti's.

Here's my guess on this litter...Being as I make these colors all of the time :)
