Kind of worried
So we got a 2500g female last week that came in a 55g tank. Our heat lamp broke so we unfortunately had to put her in our 28qt rack (poor thing). We got her out tonight for roam time and noticed that a lot of her belly is pink. I'm used to seeing them turn pink before shed, but hers doesn't look normal to me. It's not all the way down her belly, it starts about a foot down, and get much more pink towards her tail. I'm worried she might be getting burned, but none of the others are even when they lay directly on the bottom of the tub. Also, when we moved her to the tub we decided to do a thorough cleaning of the tank we got her in, I don't think they had actually cleaned it in a year, just threw in fresh mulch or whatever it is they were using. Am I freaking out for no reason or could it be more than impending shed?

Need a little more info first......Did you take the temperature of the bottom of the tub? Is it within normal range? Do you have a thermostat on the heating source?
Also, pics would help if you could post some.

Yes, sorry, was kind of a rush post. Surface of the tub is 92, top of aspen 89. Cool end surface 78, top of aspen 76. Yes, I have a thermostat hooked up. It's just so odd to me. All of my BP's have pink tummies right now & they all look like they normally do before shed, but hers is just different. But, she's a lot bigger than the rest also so maybe that's why I don't think it looks right. Will post pics soon, she's soaking in the bath right now.

Burns are aweful things they smell well burnt nasty it is horriable I had never seen a burn until a boa rescue a month back (boa small tank and che inside do not mix well.) It sounds like a shed, they have an amazing variation in shed signes I have one that turns pink totally all the belly and up the sides crazy salmon pink. A second one changes so little that I think I have imagined that slightly red tint here and there and the subtle dulling then pop, shed.
Sounds like a shed to me.

Yeah, photos would help. Your temps sound fine. Do any of the other snakes in the rack have the same issue which could indicate a temp spike? It could be the start of a shed and sometimes when I pull snakes out of a hide box they will have red blotches or lines from being coiled tightly and it goes away after a bit of cruising.
