    Death in the Family :(
So my gf and I's precious Coconut (our hedgehog) passed away today :(
Shes pretty upset. Her and I are gunna go to the pet store tomorrow and look for a new pet cause I feel really bad. I was trying to get some helpful tips on what would be a sufficient replacement for the new hole in my babys heart :( I was thinking a bunny or a guinea pig. What else should i be considering that im missing. Im open to suggestions. Thank you all!

Rats are great pets if you are looking for a small and fuzzy. They are very smart and love attention.

As long as she feels ready then good luck.

If she wants something warm blooded lol I suggest rats also. I got my first pet rat as a pup, eyes closed (refused by one of my snakes), bottle fed him and now he's fat and happy and thinks I'm his mom. Sweetest guy ever. He has a friend that lives with him too, slightly more reserved but just as sweet. Rats are ridiculously funny and loving pets.

Rats are pretty cool, I'm not opposed to the idea of a pet rat myself. However, we've had like 6+ dwarf hamsters in my house over the years, and they're freaking adorable.
    (Story time!)
Around 10 years ago my sister had two dwarf hamsters (supposedly both female.) It was her 8th birthday, and she was having a party. One of the girls decided she wanted to watch the hamsters while their food was cooking. And guess what she found? A bunch of naked little baby hamsters! You can only imagine how that went over with a bunch of 8 year old girls in the house. I believe between two and four of them survived for a while, but we don't have any of them now. My brother has had two of his own, and just recently sold his second one because he wasn't taking care of it.

But yeah, dwarf hamsters are super cool.

Sorry for the lose of Coconut :(.

As for a pet, I am also going to suggest a rat. They are rather cute. As another animal, I've owned several Sugar Gliders in the past. They are absolutely adorable and rather loveable as well.
